India is slated to launch an unmanned mission to Mars provisionally between October-November 2013, and currently preparations are in full swing for this flight at various ISRO centers. The nearly Rs 425-crore project was approved by the Union Cabinet on 3 August 2012 and was announced by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in his Independence day address.
