This book is a step towards eradicating legal illiteracy amongst women and others affected by the discrimination and crimes against women. Working as Judge in Delhi for the last 22 years, the author realized that women were victims of violence and harassment inside their homes, in their neighbourhoods, in schools and colleges, on the streets and at their place of work. A woman is targeted even in a police station or a Court when she attempts to seek justice. There was, she felt, a deep need to provide some guidance to the women and help them feel supported. For that reason, the author chose to pen almost every important law in one book to help women, their families and all those who wish to help women become empowered and confident.
